da spicy bet: Japhet Tanganga continued his exceptional form for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday against Manchester City.
On the chalkboard
da betobet: Spurs recorded a 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s side thanks to goals from new signing Steven Bergwijn and Son Heung-Min.
The 20-year-old played at left-back throughout the encounter, facing up to Riyad Mahrez on City’s right wing, and turned in an assured performance in defence.
Tanganga had 53 touches of the ball, the third-highest of any player in the Spurs team, only behind Giovani Lo Celso and Serge Aurier, per WhoScored.
He also completed one dribble, won 100% of the aerial duels he contested, and won four tackles, while making four clearances and three interceptions.
Further to that, Tanganga registered 23 accurate passes, with a completion rate of 77%.
This is the latest excellent performance in a string of them for Tanganga; he has an average rating of 7.46 in the Premier League per WhoScored, with the City clash actually marking his highest-rated game in the team so far.
An emerging talent
Tanganga is exceptional.
The defender can play on both sides of the defence, at right-back and at left-back, as well as at centre-back.
He is quick, strong, and clearly strong in the air, winning 1.7 aerial duels per game. Not only that but he allies the ability to win the ball back with the pace and technique needed to spring forward with the ball at his feet.
Mourinho’s produced some incredible footballing stars – how much do you know about them?
It speaks to Mourinho’s trust in him that he has played 90 minutes against both Liverpool and City and flourished on both occasions.
With Danny Rose loaned to Newcastle United and Ben Davies currently out injured, Tanganga has a chance to thrive.
He is doing just that; Mourinho has no reason to distrust him at this point.
Meanwhile, Spurs fans have reacted to one Jose Mourinho moment!
