Carlos Tevez will face the City fans for the first time after his very public declaration that he will never play for the club again. Despite his transfer request being turned down, Tevez is clearly far from happy, yet should not expect that mood to brighten should he be in the team to face Everton.
Such are the riches of the club, Roberto Mancini would normally refuse to select a player after such a public display of defiance, regardless of his ability. However, the Italian knows that an on form Tevez is often the difference between a decent City performance and a poor one- at this stage of the season dropped points are a cardinal sin.
Everton fans are still unsure what this campaign is to bring. Having drawn their last two, despite playing home, the need for a win has been born out of a lack of goals, rather than poor defensive displays. David Moyes has, on paper, a number of strong assets up front, however with big name players not really performing, the transfer window will be key in defining whether the blue half of Liverpool finishes above the red half this season.
Prediction: 2-0
