USMNT defender Chris Richards logged 90 minutes in a 2-1 victory for Crystal Palace over QPR Tuesday, helping his team advance to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Meanwhile, an Antonee Robinson-less Fulham were stunned by Championship side Preston North End in a 16-round penalty shootout, while U.S. U20 goalkeeper Gaga Slonina conceded seven goals as Barnsley were hammered by Manchester United 7-0.

Slonina, the 20-year-old American goalkeeper, endured a rude awakening in the competition after an impressive start to the season in the EFL League One on loan from Chelsea FC, with the Red Devils sliding seven past him.
Richards, meanwhile, put on a passing clinic in the Palace defense with an 89 percent completion rate out the back, with 87 total touches on the day. Goalkeeper Matt Turner, however, went as an unused substitute.
Fulham traveled to Preston without Robinson, as they handed him a midweek break after playing 90 minutes on Saturday in the Premier League, and they may look to rue the decision. After a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation, they fell in a penalty shootout, 16-15 to the Championship side.

Richards was handed a rest at the weekend in a 2-2 Premier League draw with Manchester City, sitting on the bench for the first time this season. It came after he played 90 minutes consecutively for the USMNT during the international break in matches against Canada and New Zealand.
