da wazamba: The Chinese Super League has become a pension fund for some players edging towards the end of their careers.
da betobet: Over the past decade, China has become a semi-retirement home for players as they received large deals to play football that could be described as semi-professional standard.
In the Premier League some players look set to leave their respective clubs having made an ever-lasting legacy during their tenure.
Now, with age not on their side, links to Chinese clubs have occurred, and some should be seriously considering the offers expected to be made.
The league is attempting to become the biggest Asian division and are teams are willing to pay serious money for top stars. The likes of Jackson Martinez and Ezequiel Lavezzi are huge names in the Far East, while last winter Jiangsu Suning made headlines when they nabbed Alex Teixeira, who came close to joining Liverpool.
But who could be the next crop of talented stars to relocate to the most populated country on the planet?
Here are FIVE players that should be considering a move to the Super League this winter.
Yaya Toure
Pep Guardiola must start to change his ageing Man City squad before long, with more than a few players approaching their sell by dates.
Toure’s contract expires with City in July and, despite being 33, the Ivorian’s standing in the game could see him almost name his price to move to China.
The midfielder has proven his capabilities since returning to the first-team and China could be devastated with his trademark performances.
Mamadou Sakho
Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has found himself frozen out of proceedings at Liverpool. The French international defender’s fall-out with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has been well documented, and his career at Anfield is certainly over.
Now, with the winter transfer window fast approaching, Sakho must consider a big-money move to China where he could impress potential suitors in a league far below his quality.
The move would be a win for everyone as Liverpool would see an astonishing fee arrive for Sakho, while the defender would be given an enormous wage and signing on fee.
Aleksandar Kolarov
Kolarov has now been at Manchester City since 2010, and his legacy at the club is becoming rather soured due to his dire recent performances. Fans are beginning to turn on the Serbian defender whose efforts look tame right now.
His inability to defend, accompanied with a trademark shot every game from 45 yards out has seen frustrations grow towards Kolarov.
Just 31, Kolarov is not likely to play for a club of similar quality of City so a move to China would make sense for all parties.
Wilfried Bony
Ivorian forward Wilfried Bony joined Stoke City on loan from Manchester City, but Mark Hughes confirmed the former Swansea City striker has a clause in the deal allowing any Chinese club to make a move for him this January.
Bony’s career in England has gone on a downward spiral following his departure from the Liberty Stadium in 2015.
The Ivory Coast forward has the ability to score goals and could score 20-30-a-season in Chinese football’s top-flight.
Wayne Rooney
With Rooney only needing one goal to secure the record as Manchester United’s leading goalscorer, what else does the club’s captain need to prove in England?
Having become England’s record goalscorer and won every domestic honour along with the Champions League, what else is there for Rooney to achieve?
China could provide Rooney with an escape route from the English media along with an enormous weekly wage.
